SLOEMusic Meeting at the New York Audio Show

Inroduced by by Stirling Trayle and Steve Hurd, The SLOEMusic™ Foundation  is an educational non-profit organization co-founded to provide a listener-centered, artist-driven platform focused on listening to beautifully performed and recorded music at an elevated experience level.  The group was featured during one of the seminar sessions at the New York Audio Show 2013 held in New recently. They rolled out their logo…a picture of an ear with a red stylized heart in the middle. The SLOE acronym stands for “Start Listening (for an) Outstanding Experience”. The group hopes to develop a taxonomy for “better quality” audio and promote informed listening of all music formats…from MP3 to uncompressed HD-Audio files.

A lively discussion was held during Sunday afternoon and included SnowGhost studio owner and chief engineer Brett Allen, some members of the press and interested parties. Their initiative has just started but aims to bridge the gap between the over processed, heavily compressed music delivered by the commercial record business and recording targeted to audiophiles. The SLOEMusic Foundation has registered a couple of domain names but as of this writing, but as of this writing the site is still in development.
