Audio trade shows have ceased operations due to the pandemic. No more AXPONA, T.H.E. Show, or Capitol Audio Fest until further notice. But that doesn’t mean they’ve opted out completely from holding “online” shows of one kind or another. I know AXPONA has held some online events although I admit that I haven’t participated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I will be involved in this afternoon’s podcast produced by the HiFi Summit folks. I was contacted a few months ago about having a virtual presence at their event. My experience thus far has been favorable. They seem well organized and committed to putting on a great event. And they invited me to present a seminar on a topic of my choice. Given that the HD-Audio Challenge<\/a> is coming to a close, I thought I would talk about the results of my study, talk about its origins, processes, and talk about the current state of affairs in HD-Audio. The seminar is titled, “The Myth of Hi-Res Audio: A Perception Survey.”<\/a> For those interested in participating in the survey, there is still time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So I was all set to deliver the seminar on Saturday, June 27th at 2 pm but learned very recently that I have to undergo a medical procedure early Friday morning. Unfortunately, the surgery will make it impossible to deliver the seminar as planned but doing the podcast \u2014 which will be recorded<\/em> and available after the fact<\/em> \u2014 will fill the slot. I apologize but late notice but it’s my only option.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
